Nothing like a new year for resolutions and revelations.

What I've discovered is that the current path I'm taking (this case being book writing) is in direct conflict with doing work for this site. Since I still have a full time job, something has to give. Alas, I'm afraid it will have to be this site.

Does this mean I will stop doing articles, reviews, what have you? No. It means that the steady flow of work I once had won't be steady any more. I'm happy with the way the site worked for the first 6 months when content was regular. But I don't think with my current work load and the lack of content here merits a dedicated site. While I have ton's of old articles and stuff I'm still working on (a reveiw, preview, and a article). It may be a bit still before I get to it.

Darke Counsel will still be around but it may find itself part of another site that is not only dedicated to MMO gaming. Bottom line, changes are in the wind.

More than just a tease??

I noticed this little news blurb on MMORPG.com this morning. Blizzard has announced (unofficially) that they are working on another MMOG. Details of the report can be found here on Gamespot.

Can the known world stand two MMOG's from Blizzard??

I made Level 70 in World of Warcraft last night. This is the second time now I've been able to hit a level cap in a MMO. Now how long before Wrath of the Lich King comes out??

Picked up this little tidbit from MMORPG.com, it looks like Lord of the Rings online will be available to play in Korea soon. More details on the story here. I wonder what that will do for the subscription rates?

For the atmosphere alone, this game will do well and influence others to come.

Does this bode good or ill I wonder? I would think Blizzard is strong enough to stand on it's own two feet. Then again business isn't exactly my forte so what do I know?!

Oh and one more thing, people who constantly jump around in game suck. No better way to say 'I'm a moron!!' than to do that.

While scanning the forums over at Ten Ton Hammer, I came across this little bit of info. It seems that the company that was making the Star Trek Online MMOG has had some serious problems and the development of the title may be done by a company new to online gaming. The article at Gamespot can explain in better detail.

Sounds like an imminent warp core breach!

Another dead site? No...not yet.

Yes it's been nearly two months since ANYTHING has happened on this site. 'Why?' you ask? Believe or not I actually have a good answer!

About 2-3 months back, I decided to take up the challenge posed by a little thing called 'No Plot? No Problem!'. The crux of this challenge was to go out and write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days time. Included in this package are tips, exercises, and some 'insurance policies' to make sure you reach your 50K word goal. I've know about this little thing for awhile and I've been putting off. But finally I accepted the challenge and started writing my book on 9/5.

Well, 2 months from that day, the book was finished with a word count of 170,109 words. I surprisingly reached the 50k mark in the first three weeks. Of course the book was no where near done so I kept with the pacing the exercise mandated and kept going till I was done. On 11/3, a gray and rainy saturday morning, I finished. Then came the long and much needed break!

With the break and holiday over, the editing process begins. Hopefully I'll be done with that in early January and then I work on my next book. (oh I got tons of em' waiting to be written!)

So what happes to this site? What happens is a minor revamp and brining things back to life. During the writing process, I've had little time to game or try any new MMO's so there was little worth contributing. But now I have a little more time again and I've been working on stuff for the site that I should be posting very shortly. I'm not ready to hang up my hat just yet.

So if you're one of those legendary few that's kept with the site, thanks for sticking around. I'll try and make it worth your while.
